42. Independent contractor compensation

    There is no set minimum or maximum hours but the independent contractor carries a set contract with the City of Lakeville. Independent contractors are responsible for supplying all materials for the class, if applicable. A W-9 and contract must be completed. All taxes are the sole responsibility of the independent contractor. Contractors are paid 70% of the class's total income unless specified otherwise. Other compensation structures may be possible based on the type of class. Instructors reserve the right to cancel a class if pre-agreed upon minimum participant enrolment is not reached.

    Our classes typically have a minimum of about four. Courses may be canceled by instructors or Lakeville Parks & Recreation if minimum enrollment is not met.
