First stop is Fireside Orchard and Garden in Northfield where you can purchase apples, jams, jellies and other items. Next we will tour the Faribault Woolen Mill which dates back to the Civil War and was closed in 2009. Faribo Blankets now occupies the space, making quality wool blankets. Participants will need to walk or stand for about 40 minutes for the tour. Wheelchairs, walkers and canes are welcome. Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetable, dinner roll, beverage and dessert will be served at the Depot Restaurant before you take a little time to shop in Faribault. Next, arrive in rural Kenyon to the Aspelund Winery. Take a tasting tour and purchase wine and other products. The property is park-like with oak trees, flowers and gardens. The view is gorgeous as you overlook Wanamingo and the Zumbro River Valley. Maximum of 16 per city (52 per bus).
Come and get your flu shot and avoid this year’s bug. Flu shots will be offered at the Heritage Center in for your convenience. All major insurance accepted. Flu shots provided by Cub Pharmacy on Kenwood Trail.
You can also shop the Farmers' Market on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lakeville Area Arts Center (20965 Holyoke Avenue) June 19 through September 25.
The Parks, Recreation & Natural Resources Committee meets at 6 p.m. on the first and third Wednesday of each month at City Hall, 20195 Holyoke Avenue.
