Using DNA in Genealogical Research

Tuesday, October 26, 2021

The tie between genealogy and genetics has been getting a lot of attention lately as DNA kits, like Ancestry DNA and 23andme, have become more popular. There are a lot of things to be learned from testing your DNA. Come learn more about the basics of DNA kits, how to use the results to further your genealogical research, what to do when you receive matches that you never expected, and the positive and negative effects of using DNA in genealogical research. During the last part of the course, there will be a few in-class activities to practice some of the new skills you’ve learned. There is a maximum of 20 for this event. Sponsored by Dakota County Heritage Library and Lakeville Area Active Adults.
