October 21: "Imagine a Day Without Water"

Friday, October 21, 2022
Tour times: 8:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. or 1 p.m.

Lakeville Water Treatment Facility - 18400 Ipava Avenue

Water is a finite resource and one that needs protection. Imagine if you had no water to drink or make coffee. No water to cook food, shower or flush the toilet. Hospitals would close without water and farmers couldn’t water their crops.

Come take a tour of the Water Treatment Facility to see where the City’s groundwater becomes potable water. Learn how your home’s water usage affects our drinking water supplies and the quality of lakes and rivers with:

  • An interactive watershed display – showing how water picks up pollutants and flows downstream
  • A chance to win prizes by participating in water jeopardy
  • Tips on how to save water (and money) at home
  • An introduction to the City’s new WaterSmart portal
  • A free “Save the Water” t-shirt (kid sizes while supplies last)!

Bring your kids to this fun, interactive tour (while school is out). Space is limited – you must pre-register for a tour time. Pre-register for a tour time using this online form or call 952-985-4524.
